His Eminence, Metropolitan Constantine of Denver
His Eminence Metropolitan Constantine of Denver was born in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, to the late Petros Moralis (a refugee from Asia Minor) and Sarah (from Mobile, Alabama, USA). From a young age, he aspired to serve the Church as a clergyman. After completing his primary education in his hometown, he enrolled in Hellenic College in 1988, graduating before continuing his studies at the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, from which he graduated in 1994.
He served as the Director of Youth Ministry at the Annunciation Cathedral in Baltimore under the guidance of his spiritual father, the late Rev. Konstantinos Monios. In 1996, he was ordained deacon and then priest by the late Metropolitan Silas of New Jersey and was assigned as a priest to the Annunciation Cathedral, where he had been baptized. In 2002, he was appointed Dean of the same cathedral, at which time the then-Archbishop of America Demetrios bestowed upon him the rank of Archimandrite.
For many years, he has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology.
After 24 years of dedicated service at the Annunciation Cathedral and following the recommendation of Archbishop Elpidophoros to the Holy Eparchial Synod, the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, presided over by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, unanimously elected him as Bishop of Sassima on July 22, 2022. He was ordained to the episcopacy on October 15 of the same year by Archbishop Elpidophoros at the Holy Trinity Archdiocesan Cathedral in New York City.
He was appointed Assistant Bishop to the then-Metropolitan Isaias of Denver, responsible for the liturgical and pastoral needs of the Metropolis of Denver.
Following the election of Metropolitan Isaias as Metropolitan of Lystra and based on a proposal by Archbishop Elpidophoros to the Holy Eparchial Synod, the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, according to the established triprosopon, unanimously elected him as Metropolitan of Denver on May 17, 2024.
